Maker Faire: Day 1

Robert, Sebastian and I are here at the Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo. We spent the day today getting our PhotosynQ booth ready, and putting last minute touches (well… more like frantic last minute working) on the experiments we’re running during the Faire. Since it’s late and I’m sleepy, I’m not going to write much but just show a bunch of images from our day. Tomorrow and Sunday we’ll have more data from the measurements inside the Faire itself.

If you want to follow us tomorrow, check google plus for #photosynq, we’ll try to post throughout the day.

Now, when you take a measurement with the MultispeQ in the field, not only will it automatically cache the data if you are out of internet range, it will save your GPS location. That means we can map our measurements. You can our 2.5 mile walk from our hotel to the Faire this morning by the line of measurements.

Teensy powered Kraken... well ok, not really but pretty cool anyway.

We saw a little creek with some algae in it, and I couldn't pass it up. Robert holding the phone so I didn't fall in.

Nice photo of the base MultispeQ unit (no add on) with a long light guide. This allows us to use the ambient actinic light instead of having to simulate it from the device.

We took 109 measurements today on our 2.5 mile walk to and from the Faire.

  1. Saw you guys at Maker Faire in San Mateo, and talked to Sebastian Kuhlgert and occasionally to Robert Zegarac.
Very good show: you’ll sell dozens of them a day the next time Maker Faire comes around.
